Left mouse button click on the slide has the same effect as "Next Slide" button click. Right mouse button click on the slide has the same effect as "Previous Slide" button click.

Multiple-frame images view

Some graphic formats support storing few pictures inside one file. For example, TIFF file may have few pictures of the same page which where scanned with different resolution.

Animation is one more reason to have few frames. In the majority of cases the animated pictures blinking on millions of web pages are animated GIF pictures.

The multiple-frame pictures view has some special features.

1. The panel "Preview" shows the initial two frames.

2. Bottom of the "Show Pics" window has a frame slider.

This slider allows selecting any frame from the multiple-frame image. Click the slider with the left mouse button (while holding the mouse button down) and move it to any position, or click any position on slider's toolbar and the corresponding frame will be selected.

The slider's buttons at the right and left ends of the slider bar show the numbers of the first and last frames. These buttons allow moving the frame image forward or backward one frame at a time. The current frame number is shown on the slider panel header.

3. When the slides are shown full screen the GIF-files are animated (just like inside Internet Explorer),

and the TIFF-files are shown frame by frame. The bottom of the screen shows the frame slider, which behaves like the slider on the full screen slides window.

The animated GIF is animated once if it is a member of a multiple picture slides list. It is animated continuously if the list consists of a single animated GIF.

What is "Another ViewPoint"

Everybody has a right to privacy and business secrets. This program allows the user to conceal details (of their private life or business) from unauthorized viewers. If the user needs to conceal confidential pictures (photos, illustrations, scanned documents etc.) from hackers, a boss, fellow-employees, wife, children, parents, etc., they can use various programs for protection. Meanwhile these programs do not allow use of the concealed data as easily and safely, as you can with normally unprotected files.

Main features: This program is not available obviously. It is hidden inside another, absolutely usual and neutral program. Confidential files are not kept as hidden files. They are kept inside carriers - usually pictures. The pictures (carriers) themselves are not distorted. Any program that can be used to view pictures will show the carrier's content only. The above mentioned features are very important psychologically. When the secrets or their traces are absent, the computer's owner is above of suspicion. As a result nobody will try to reveal their secrets. When you review confidential information, the program does not leave any traces on your computer (almost all similar programs create, for example, temporary files). To encrypt data before hiding it uses the latest strong cryptography methods known, e.g. AES (Rijndael). The size of hidden pictures is not limited. If you know the right password, the hidden pictures are viewed with the same speed and comfort as usual ones. The program allows restoring hidden files and clearing the carriers along with their original file names. If this program had deleted the files they could not be restored. Any special software or hardware is powerless to restore them. This program may be used for safe information exchange via Internet or mobile communications providers.

Starting the Program

In the "ViewPoint" main window the user types shortcut keys and clicks Enter. After it opens you may use

"Another ViewPoint":

Shortcut key combination for free version is "111".

If you did not enter shortcut key correctly you do not try to change it. Just click Enter and try again.

If you press ESC - you back to the ViewPoint, if you click on the Exit button - you close the program.

When the program "Another ViewPoint" is started and the slide list has been created, the main window menu and toolbar will be displayed as shown below:

or when you open the menu "File":

New menu items and buttons will be shown as described below.

New items will be shown on the right of main window: panel "Password" second picture in the panel "Preview"

If you typed the correct password in the panel "Preview" the file-carrier is shown on the left, and the hidden file - on the right.

It is impossible to change the Password for the free version.

Click left mouse button on the picture Preview to view this picture in slide show window.

The panel's header button allows rolling down this panel and frees a place for additional information. Click the rollup panel again to return it to its previous state.

Hiding Files

"Encode Files Wizard" allows you to hide the files. Use the button or menu item "Action -> Encode Files Wizard" to start it. The wizard's algorithm has three steps: 1. The hidden files list is selected, 2. Files-carriers are selected and 3. The target folder is selected where the resulting files will be written. Hidden files may be shredded.

The hiding procedure does not change carrier file's name, because the resulting file - a new file with new unique name, is created automatically.

New resulting files' names are created from prefix aP_ and free six-digit number in the resulting directory.

Program allows hiding the files of next types: The files-carriers must have the type JPEG of any extension from the list:

After starting the hiding wizard you have to create the list of files to hide. These files may be contained in different folders. The procedure to create the list, work with folders, panels and buttons is the same as the procedure used to create slide lists and described in "ViewPoint" section.

The button "Next" is enabled when the panel "What Files to hide" has at least single file.

The next hiding step is to select file-carriers, i.e. the file which will keep the confidential data inside.

If the list of file-carriers is not created the silhouette from "Preview" panel is used as the picture-carrier.

When you restore the file-carriers this picture will be saved into the file named no_one.jpg.

If the number of files to hide is more than the number of file-carriers, the latest will be used several times, cyclically, i.e. when the list end is achieved, the first file from list will be selected again.

At third the step the next parameters are selected: 1. Password (is entered twice to avoid typing errors). 2. The target folder is selected where resulting files will be copied. 3. If necessary to shred a hidden file, the shredding is confirmed.

You may not change the Password for free version.

Default target folder is "Desktop"

When the button "Finish" is clicked the file hiding procedure starts. The progress is shown by a progress bar at the bottom of the screen:

When the task is completed the results are shown in the information window:

Any possible errors are described in "Possible Errors Details" section.

Click the "OK" button to return to the program's main window. After this action the resulting folder becomes current one and the slide list is filled.

Resulting files' names are created from prefix aP_ and free six-digit number in the resulting directory.

The bottom right corner of the next picture shows two names - they are the original file names of

the pictures, which are shown on the panel "Preview".

Files Restoring

Use the "Decode Files Wizard" to restore files by clicking this button or by the menu command "Action -> Decode Files Wizard".

Restoring procedure consists of two steps: 1. List of restored files is selected, 2. Target folder is selected, where restored files will be saved. The carrier-files may be shredded. The original file names are restored too.

When the Decode Wizard is started you have to create file-carriers list which hold hidden information. These files may be contained in different folders. The procedure to create the list, work with folders, panels and buttons is the same as procedure to create slides list and is described in "Features" section.

If the carriers list was empty before file hiding, the panel's "Preview" silhouette was used as the carrier:
After file-carriers restoring this picture is saved into the file named no_one.jpg.

As you can see below the panel's "Preview" silhouette was used to hide files.

At the second (and last) step the next parameters are set: 1. Password. 2. The folder, where restored files will be copied. 3. The files-carrier shredding is confirmed if needed. 4. If the files-carrier clearing is confirmed they are restored with original names.

Password is fixed for free version and it is impossible to change it.

Default target folder is "Desktop".

When the button "Finish" is clicked the files are restored. The progress is illustrated by progress bar at the bottom of the window:

When the procedure is completed its results are shown in the information window:

If any errors occurred, error messages are shown.

Click the "OK" button to return to the main window. The target folder where restored files were copied becomes the current one and the slides list is filled.

If the number of hidden files exceeded the number of file-carriers the latest may be used several times. After restoring the number of carriers will be restored to original one.

If the selected target folder to restore files have files with the same names, the most current files will not be deleted, restored files will be given a new name. Such new names are formed by adding a number (in parenthesis) to original name. For example if IMB001.JPG exists, when you restore it the new file name would become IMB001(1).JPG

Possible Errors Details

If errors occurred (while hiding or restoring files) this information window is shown

Clicking the YES button allows you to get all error details:

How to Create and View Slides List

The procedure to create the slides list, work with folders, panels and buttons is the same as described in "Features" section.

To view hidden files you have to input the password in the panel "Password":

After it you may view usual files (files-carriers) and hidden files. They are shown as thumbnails on the panel "Preview":

To view files use:

Main menu items Toolbar buttons

When the corresponding button (or menu item) is clicked the slide view window is shown:

The actions to navigate the slides list, work with sliders and buttons etc. are described in detail in "Features" section.

Full screen slide show is described in "Features" section.

Diagnostic Messages

The messages, which are arising during files viewing, are shown in the panels, where the pictures should be shown. For example:

Shredding Files

It is a non-trivial task to remove the files from your computer reliably and without the possibility for restoring them. Moving the files to the Recycle Bin creates an illusion of data destruction. Simply by writing over the old files also does not destroy the old information reliably. The hard drive writing head positioning inaccuracy does not permit removing residual magnetization on the side of each track.

This program uses a special method of overwriting files with different byte combinations. This technology conforms to the norm of the Peter Gutman method, which makes software and hardware file recovery impossible.

To delete the files from a folder, first select them and then click the button "Delete Selected Files":

This window will be shown:

A check to the left of the file name means that this file will be removed. To remove the check, position the cursor over the check box and click the left mouse button. If the item "Shred" is checked, special technology is used that prohibits recovering the file. This process takes longer, so just be patient. Otherwise the files are just deleted without moving them to Recycle Bin.

Removing report is shown in information window:

Information Exchange

This program may be used for information exchange via Internet. Hidden pictures may be sent via e-mail or published on sites, for example, on free family pictures sites.

Also you may send the photos (with hidden images) via mobile operators. The files-carriers may be kept within mobile phones or digital cameras where they will look like usual photos.

Images Format Converting into JPEG

If the selected files list has non-JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg, .jpe, .jfif) formatted files, click this button "Convert selected to .JPG" becomes available:

The button "Convert selected to .JPG" is available only if non-JPEG formatted files have been selected. If the selected files list also has JPEG files in it, they will not be converted.

When the button "Convert selected to .JPG" is clicked, this window will be shown:

The check to the left of the file name indicates that this file will be converted. To remove the check, move the cursor to the check and click the left mouse button and the action will be cancelled:

If the checkbox "Delete source file after conversion" is checked, the selected files will be shredded.

The target folder where the selected files will be placed after conversion must be selected in the panel "Select destination folder:".

Converted file names will consist of the original name with the ".jpg" extension. If the selected folder has files with these names in it, the new names will be modified by adding a number in parenthesis () to its name (e.g. jones.jpg will become jones(1).jpg, etc.):

If any errors occur a pop-up error message will be shown:

Error details may be reviewed in corresponding window:
